Antioxidant testing can show you if you are healthy. Also if you are in danger of any illnesses that would need medical attention. It is extremely important to closely and consistently monitor your body's systems, but how is antioxidant testing done?

A general testing of your body, how healthy it is and in what fitness condition your body is, will answer your antioxidant questions and will essentially lead to successful antioxidant testing. There are a few worthy tests that can be done in order to come to the conclusion that you are fit and healthy. They are not cheap but definitely essential to be done at least once a year.

One of the tests is metabolic testing. It is important as it is responsible to keep your body functioning, you breathing well and your heart beating. There is highly capable machinery today which can tell very accurately the rates. By finding out your metabolism rate you will know how many calories you should consume on a daily basis to keep yourself healthy and in good shape.

Another testing is the nutritional evaluation. This test can determine what nutrients you lack and what you have in excess. It is very important as this will show you the amount of antioxidants you will require on a daily basis.

There are also many more other tests that could be done should any of the above tests have a very negative outcome. All these tests are antioxidant testing.

Antioxidant testing actually determines the state of your body. And the antioxidants help your body to repair damages and restore its well being. Antioxidants work from inside eliminating free radicals, which cause the main damage to the body cells, and repairing the damages done.

If you know your antioxidant levels in the body, you can help yourself to prevent your body from serious diseases and aging.

An antioxidant originates mainly from earth grown plants. Examples of antioxidants would be beta-carotene, vitamin E and lycopene. Beta-carotene comes from carrots; vitamin E from leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds; and lycopene from red-ripe tomatoes. It was also discovered that coffee, tea and chocolate contain antioxidants. Although these aren't as beneficial to your health as the vegetables, they still contain an enormous amount of antioxidants. You can use antioxidants that are also available in pills but those should be used only after consulting with your doctor as if there is a risk of overdosing.

Because an antioxidant fights the harmful oxidation that can attack your body's cells, it has an overall positive impact on your well-being; the antioxidant reverses the impact of carcinogens (cancer causing elements) and atherogenics (heart problems) which are caused by oxidation damage. Thus, antioxidants help to prevent cancer, heart-related illnesses; supports eye health and boost the immune system. There even have been recent studies linking high levels of antioxidants to anti-aging. This means that antioxidants help prevent dementia and other types of neurological damage due to age.

You should do your antioxidant testing and choose a better lifestyle that benefits your body and soul and start doing this by adding antioxidants to your daily diet in any form you find best for you.
